MARIA REILLY
Maria Reilly is a an artist, published author, manager and national award-winning design leader with over 15 years of professional experience in the built environment. Throughout her career, she has focused on creating impactful and expressive spaces with layered meaning, sensuality and excitement that engage, ignite and motivate people to explore and find happiness from within them. Maria’s experience includes public and private sectors. In addition to practice, Maria has over ten years in teaching at various leading universities in higher-education in Urbanism, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture. Maria holds a Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture (BSLA) from Cornell University. She is an Urban Land Institute (ULI) member and Leadership Institute Graduate for the Southeast Florida/Caribbean region, long standing member and active national Advisory Committee track lead for the Public Realm of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA).
Outside of her professional commitments, Maria has served as an appointed national, state, and local member on various boards pertaining to landscape architecture, civic spaces, and beautification of the outdoors. Her research has been funded by the Van Alen Institute with support from the New York State Council on the Arts; exhibited internationally at the Venice Biennale, S.R. Crown Hall at IIT in Chicago, and more; and she is a past Visiting Artist at the American Academy in Rome (AAR) and Rudy J. Favretti of the Garden Club of America. Maria enjoys serving on guest panels, conferences, and as a design critic across the globe. She has been an international awards jury for the Global Architecture Design Awards (GADA), World Landscape Architecture, and presenter at conferences for organizations such as the AIA, National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) and the Florida Recreation Parks Association (FRPA), Council of Educations in Landscape Architecture (CELA), and more for her design, built work, and research.
